Technically rum and coke night at our hostel is a MWF gig. This means that on those days, El Centro Del Mundo Hostel provides a 12 liters of rum and coke in a bucket with a ladle along with cups. Once that is gone, if everyone contributes a dollar, the bucket is refilled to the top. However, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if at least 4 people play a pool (there is a table out back), the winner gets a bottle of rum. Furthermore, Saturday has a generous happy hour. I think the philosophy is something like " if residents are kept drunk, they won't be able to get up early enough to check out". We have been pretty careful with this... Although, we straight-up lost Tuesday to hangover, and ended up watching 3 bad movies in the community area with our new amigos. People at our hostel represent South Africa, France, Australia, Canada, Germany, Norway,Holland, and the US. This changes everyday.
